The top is 3/4" MDF with 1/8" tempered hardboard. The framing is regular construction lumber milled straight. The face is radiata pine. |

The dust hood is very effective. It'll pull fine particles from several feet away. |

The shop-made blast gate will eventually have a magnetic switch to start the dust collector when it's opened. |

The dust hose just ties into the body of the duct. |

The center 3' section of the fence is removable, so I can make other zero-clearance inserts. |

The dropped section was made low so I could mill spacer blocks to fine-tune the saw height to the sides. |

The saw's miter lock just clears the back. When I need to tilt the saw, it only takes a couple seconds to swing the saw around and reach it. |
